PICOT guided search
My university operates on a shoe string, doing more with less is our motto for as long as I can remember. The state legislature doesn’t like Milwaukee, and we feel it. So, as we sit with less funding and less students to support our research, I have been looking into different AI products to supplement my work. Moreover, I have no funding from grants to pay students. I am not normally pulling large amounts of data, and I might not be today, but it will probabl ybe more than usual. And, I want to pull data from EBSCO and ERIC, and maybe some others. EBSCO is now touting a AI sign and its PICOT guided search. They describe it as a “specialized search method” prodeominatley used in health, bursing, and med fields and is designed based on clinical questions – Population, Intervention, Comparison, Outcome, and Time. It also says I can use another AI-driven tool – EBSCO Connect.
We can use this for social science, education, and more. Many disciplines now use sumilar methodological approaches and may paticularly helpful for Systematic Reviews. We will see. I actually came looking to use Elicit. What are you using? How?

Note, I added some data to population, intervention, and comparison. Interesting, this is what cameup in the search – (students) AND ((learning) AND (online)). I am not sure if there is actually data parsed by cell and methodolodical design or keyword dressed up as methodological design.
